Visits/ Visitors
The whole school has a visit from Jamie - a musician from a company called 'Rock Steady.' He showed us (and played) some different instruments from a rock band including a guitar, base guitar, drums and piano. Some of the children had a chance to play the instruments and they all got to join in with clapping the rhythms - it was a very fun and inspirational morning!
Today we had a visit from Lee the Fire-Fighter to link in with our topic Fire! Fire! He reminded the children about Stop! Drop! Roll! and we talked about making a fire safety plan and how important it is to have smoke alarms. We went out in the rain to see his fire vehicle. It was very funny when he put the siren on!
We participated in a very exciting drama workshop about the Great Fire of London. The children took part in lots of role play activities where they demonstrated how much they already knew about the Great Fire of London and also they thought further about the emotions of the people who lived through it. At the end of the workshop they got into groups to perform a little section of the story.
