The story so far
Way back in February 2004, Bruton Primary School started on our journey being linked with Mufulira Mine Primary School which has enriched the learning of both communities through exchange visits by staff and mutual learning through projects that children from the two schools have shared. As part of their Global Education, children of all year groups have been able to develop a sense of themselves as part of a wider world. Our link has given them an awareness of diverse societies and different cultures. Each time teachers from Mufulira visit, the positive impact is felt throughout the school community and we greatly appreciated the most recent visit in October 2018, from Mr Joseph Chishimba and Ms Godfridah Mwimbe. During their visit the focus was on Traditional Tales and our children are now well acquainted with the antics of Kululu the Hare, whilst Bruton Primary pupils sent out their own stories to share with the children of Mine Primary. On their reciprocal visit in March 2018, Miss Maggs and Mrs Atkins took out resources centred around the topic of Homes and Houses that our KS1 had recently been involved with. Last year was our 15 Year Anniversary which is an achievement we are very proud of .
