Be Responsible

To be RESPONSIBLE like Otis the Orangutan:

  • I can manage distractions so that I can learn effectively.
  • I can plan what I need to do.
  • I can make good choices.
  • I know right from wrong.

To help us think about this terms Learning Behaviour, we were put in to groups which included children from each year group (R-Y6). We were responsible for creating breaktime games. We then had the responsibility of teaching everyone our game.

You may see some of our ideas being played during break and lunchtimes.

Miss Giles presented each class with a spider plant that she has been growing over the summer. Each class has a big, and exciting, responsibility to ensure their plants continue to flourish throughout the year as we know all our pupils will. Hopefully as the year progresses, there will be some spiderettes (babies of the mother plant) to continue our family of plants!

Autumn 1 Term

This term the whole school is focusing on the Learning Behaviour of RESPONSIBILITY.

Have a look below at how each class practiced being responsible!

The children in Cuckoo Class found out they were going to be responsible for their very own jelly baby! They had to make a bed for them and kept them safe for the day!

The challenge for the children in Dove class was to create a carrier for their egg and to look after it all day without it cracking. We had some fabulous egg carriers and most children showed how responsible they could be. There was lots of egg-sitting going on at break times and the children entrusted me to egg-sit their eggs while they had lunch. There were a few cracked eggs and some lessons learned too. Great responsibility and team work Dove Class!

Dove Class were given an egg to look after for the whole day that was their responsibility
