Dove Class have been investigating wheels and axles. They looked at different wheeled vehicles and identified the wheels, axles and axle holders and thought about what each part did. After that they made their own mock-up creating wheels and axles from card, masking tape and straws.
Ibis enjoyed the STEM and Design activity of creating a paper rollercoaster. They used card to create the different hills, turns, loops and straights. They then tested their designs with marbles.

Year Two have been learning about levers and sliders - they created a moving picture based on Neil Armstrong - who they have been learning about in our Quest.
Magnetic games - In Hawk we played magnetic games before designing our own magnetic games. Cuckoo class came and played the games with us.
Using our knowledge of Electricity, Ibis class designed and then built their own Christmas decorations containing one moving and one light up aspect.
Ibis class made catapults for Family Learning. We planned and designed our catapults based on our prior knowledge before building and testing our designs.

In DT, Year 5 made moving and light up scenes from movies using electrical circuits














Auklet class made some great junk models of London Landmarks!
In Auklet for our Minibeast topic, the children chopped fruit to create their own bugs!
In DT the children in Dove Class have sewn Easter decorations using basic running stitch. They drew out and labelled their design, sewed their decoration and then evaluated it. Don't they look wonderful?!
