British Values at Bruton Primary School
Remembrance Service 2021
The whole school gathered on the playground to take part in a Remembrance Service. At 11am the children completed a two minute silence to remember all those who sacrificed their lives in the war, and other conflicts that followed it.
It was lovely to see so many children wearing their poppies or sharing pieces of poppy artwork they had created. We also had children wearing their uniforms to represent the youth groups that they are part of including Scouts, Girl Guides, Rainbows and Beavers.
We took time to listen to the the Last Post and reflect on the words of the 'In Flanders Field' poem read by a small group of year 5/6 children.
