This week, we have been thinking about our school's learning behaviours and what these look like in our classroom and around the school. The children were very good at describing them as well as demonstrating them throughout the week. I will continue to hand out house points to those who show their learning behaviours in school.
In maths, we have started to assess the children and have recapped some key skills such as times tables, number bonds and adding single-digit numbers.
In English, the children have applied for a class job, which will be allocated next week.
During our quest lessons, we introduced the topic with a range of scientific investigations for the children to guess our topic title. We then discussed what we already knew and what we would like to find out before finding the definitions to key vocabulary in our topic.
Mr Daniels will be teaching the children PE on a Tuesday afternoon. This week they played some team building games to help the children get to know each other as well as Mr Daniels.
The children have all completed their star reader test which has provided them with a level for their reading books.
A very busy and exciting first week back, so I hope the children get a lot of rest over the weekend ready for next week.
