We have started our DT topic of wheels and axles - first, we have investigated how wheels move, and addressed the common misconception that wheels themselves are attached to the chassis of the vehicle.
In science, we investigated which materials would be suitable to make an umbrella out of. First, we made predictions about what each material would do. Then we looked at the importance of carrying out a fair test.
We had a dance workshop and enjoyed following along with the moves!
Eagle class had an informative visit to Bruton Museum, Sass showed us some toys from long ago, we were able to hold them and discussed how they differed from toys today. We then had some free time to explore the rest of the museum.
We have enjoyed seeing some old toys brought in from home!
Our beautiful Poppy artwork for Remembrance Day. These pieces turned out really well and we showed them to the school during our Remembrance Service.
Numbots Day! We absolutely loved seeing your Robot costumes, they were fantastic!!
Numbots Day! Whilst wearing robot costumes, the children had some time to explore the Numbots app using the iPads. Each child has their own login which can be used at home!
Our DT project is going to be all about wheels and axels, so the children had some free time to explore wheels using the Lego and Knex to see if they could make some creative wheeled vehicles.
This half term is all about our learning behaviour 'being creative' So we had a day of no writing allowed! Normally our EMA involves some writing, but instead we used playdough to make 2D shapes and write our names.
