Look at the fantastic homework we have created this term. All the children were proud to show off their flags and maps!

Great fun was had making Halloween fudge. The children enjoyed melting the chocolate and adding it to condensed milk, but they especially liked decorating the fudge with sprinkles, buttons and spooky faces!

We have been investigating number bonds to 20 in Maths.

Our whole school walk - our very muddy whole school walk!

As the culmination of our work on Hundertwasser we created our own installation with Eagle and Dove classes. First we painted our boxes with bright colours before we used collage to decorate them. Finally we placed our boxes on the playground to create our own town.

We were extremely lucky today to have a visit from Etta in Eagle Class' Dad and Granny, who brought us a real life Hundertwasser creation to look at. We were able to look closely at the styles and patterns, colours and shapes used. We could clearly see the architecture of the creation seeing all the pieces being stacked together and stored away again. This marvellous collection is London bound next week, so we were very lucky indeed to see a Hundertwasser in real life!

We have been making fact files about Hundertwasser. We have found out some very interesting facts about him!

As part of our topic on 'Marvellous Mapping', we had a visit from Marcus who draws and creates maps. He brought in some maps, that he had created, for us to look at and talked us through how we would draw our own map. We had a discussion on what symbols would be used to represent which feature. We also spoke about what could be included on a map. Marcus gave us all our very own map to take home!

This week we have started our book 'Martha maps it out'. We looked at a map of Martha's bedroom and then made our own maps of our bedrooms. We had to add labels and as much detail as we could.

As part of our annual learning behaviour days, the children were looking at being responsible. They had to look after a sticky toy for the whole day keeping it safe. If they managed to look after it for the whole day, then they were able to take it home. They were given a small see-through pouch to help them keep it safe.

At Forest School this week we worked with a partner to draw maps of the Forest School Area.

This week we had our first PE lesson with the our new PE Coach Mr Creed. We played 'Stuck in the Mud' and had a great time playing a game where we had to grab the ball before our partner!

Today we took part in a Maths investigation. We worked with a partner and had to roll the dice and put that number of counters onto the grid. We had to record how many throws it took us to completely fill the grid. We then changed one of the rules of the game to see whether it made the task harder or easier.

We have been looking at the sculptor Henry Moore and his clay heads. We decided to create our own self-portraits using clay. The children watched a video tutorial and were amazing at using the skills they had seen to create their own heads. Here are some pictures of us at work and the finished products!
