Auklet and Barn Owl's trip to Bristol Aquarium
In Reception this week, we were very excited to meet Vanessa from Brue Larder food bank in Bruton. We learnt that Brue Larder is open once a week and was first started in 2020. Families in Bruton and the surrounding areas receive their pack with anything from pasta to toothpaste and Brue Larder also collects donations of clothing and toys. They are now working hard to have a Community fridge so that chilled items can be available and fruit and vegetables can keep fresh for longer.
We thought about the idea that if we can all try to give a little, that can help others who don't have enough. The children kindly brought in a donation from home, to support the work of Brue Larder, which we presented to Vanessa at the end of her visit.

The children of Auklet and Barn Owl were very excited to welcome their parents and carers to come along into the classroom to join in a family learning afternoon! The children enjoyed the afternoon filled with magic and fairies. The children enjoyed making their own fairy potions, flower crowns and creating a group piece of art of weaving. Lots of fun was had by all!
