Trips/visitors

In Maths we have been learning about money. The children worked with a partner to set up a mini 'shop' and sold classroom objects to each other for the correct money.

In Science we have been looking at measuring strength. The children made a prediction about which paper fold they thought would be the strongest, then tested each one using cubes as a unit of measure. We discussed the importance of fair testing.

In ICT the children have been using chrome Music Lab to create digital music. They learned how to change the instruments and adjust the tempo.

In Art we made robots using collage and moving parts. It was lovely to see that each child's robot was a bit different.

We had a day of music, we were joined by a beat boxer, a band and had a dance workshop. The children loved listening to the music and learning new skills.

What a scorcher of a trip to Carymoor! We had a brilliant time and were well looked after. The children explored the nature reserve and compost heap. We also went on a trail hunting under covers for bugs and critters, we found lots of ants nests and some great crested newts! The children explored the waste tunnel, a great opportunity to physically handle some (clean) items which could actually be found in landfill, all from different eras. After lunch the children enjoyed a craft activity, making a parrot cress planter out of recycled materials. Thank you so much to the parents who kindly joined us!
