Easter Fun!
Bryony from Magic Lantern came to talk to us about how different Islands have been represented in art.
We made a traditional St Lucian Callaloo Soup. We peeled and chopped the vegetables. We used vegetables that some of us had never seen before including Okra and Callaloo. Later on we shared our soup during our Caribbean celebration.
We had a fantastic Caribbean Celebration afternoon with Eagle Class! We had limbo dancing, fruit punch, Caribbean instruments and a photobooth!
During our Caribbean Celebration with Eagle Class we had a photobooth. The children took their own photographs and had lots of fun!
In Maths, our focus has been on multiplication. This week we have been looking at arrays and repeated addition. We had to choose an array card and build it using playdough.
We went on a word hunt today! We searched the playground for 22 words related to our class book "Katie Morag Delivers the Mail".
We looked at Microhabitats during our Science lesson. We went to look for Microhabitats and the living things that live there. We found some worms, ants and slugs!
We were very lucky to visit the Art Department at Kings Bruton where Mr Harkness and Miss Ling taught us about Monoprinting. We worked hard on three different styles of printing. We had a great time!
We helped the office by sorting some post this week. We read the different letters and thought about who they should be delivered to. When we sorted all the post we went around the School delivering to the correct people. Finally we read Katie Morag Delivers the Mail which is our class book for this half term.
Lots of fun on World Book Day. We shared our poems with each other and with Hawk Class, wrote our own nonsense poems and celebrated all things poetry in a whole school assembly.
We had a special pancake snack time on Pancake Day!
We used the Beebots to learn about algorithms.
As part of our 'Book Week' learning we were very lucky to have a visit from 'West End in Schools' who shared a bringing books to life workshop with us. Michelle taught us a dance routine all about the story of the Gingerbread Man.
