Today the children had great fun flying toy glider aeroplanes through hoops in the trees in the Forest School Area. They also created an aeroplane from a huge cardboard box- adding the wings and details. Apparently they were on an overnight flight to America !
Today the children had great fun making bird feeders - they used lard and bird seed and hung them around the forest school area for a delicious feast for the birds. As we were sharing a song at the end of the session we were delighted to spot a robin enjoying a tasty treat. As always, lots of intrepid tree climbing took place!
The children spotted lots of birds in our bird watch today - and recorded what they saw using tally charts. The most common bird was the carrion crow but we also spotted some chaffinches and robins.
