Photographs of our learning
The colour run (Or stroll as it became due to the hot weather!) was such fun!
We had a fantastic time on our trip to Lyme Regis! We visited the statue of Mary Anning, searched for fossils and played on the sandy beach! We were very tired on the way home!
We had a fantastic sports day! We took part in a carousel of events before the final running races! Thank you to our official photographer "Mr Noah" who managed to capture 786 photographs of the action! I have uploaded the edited highlights!
In Forest School we found out about the different types of fossils. We tried to match the pictures to the descriptions. Then we went on a fossil hunt to see if we could find any real fossils!
We worked together in pairs to be detectives. We used different sources to find out about the fossil hunter Mary Anning. Mary lived in Lyme Regis in the 1800's.
We looked very closely at fossils this week. We created some observationsl drawings using charcoal.
In English we did a bit of Hot Seating. We thought of questions we would like to ask the different characters from "The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch". Then we took turns to play the different characters.
In maths we continued our learning about fractions. We used lots of different items from around the classroom to find three quarters of amounts.
We found out about Ammonite fossils. We practised skills using playdough before we moved on to create our own clay ammonites. They look fantastic!
We continued our work on fractions by looking at sharing numbers into thirds.
We rounded off the week by taking part in our NSPCC mile!
In Science we are learning about seasonal changes. We talked about the way our class tree changes with the seasons. Then we worked together to create some amazing collages about the different seasons using pictures from magazines
In Maths we have continued our work on fractions by investigating how we can fold different shapes in to quarters!
We enjoyed looking at books for our new Quest "Seaside Treasures" . We thought about questions we would like to know the answers to.
