Photographs of our learning

A great day was had by all at Lyme Regis. We saw the statue of Mary Anning, looked for fossils on the beach, played in the sand with our friends and paddled in the sea (and even saw some jellyfish!)

In Maths we have been learning how to find one quarter, two quarters and three quarters of an amount. We took our learning outside to do this!

We have been using charcoal to draw ammonite fossils.

We have been working with clay to make clay ammonites. We practices rolling, squeezing, moulding and squishing the clay before we rolled it into a long sausage shape. Then we began to sculpt the spiral shape. After that we added some texture to our clay models using clay tools to score lines.

We joined forces with Eagle for PE this afternoon and we completed some Sports Day practice including relays, sprints, egg and spoon races and a beanbag throw.

Fun in our outdoor area while the sun shines......albeit briefly!

In Maths we have been learning about fractions. Today we were finding 1 third of an amount.

We walked, ran, jumped, skipped and cartwheeled 8 laps around the track today as part of our fundraising efforts for the NSPCC. The children were also very excited to see a squirrel on the playground!
