We had a very interesting visit to Sexey's Hospital in Bruton - where we met some of the residents and had a tour to see the chapel and their entertainment space. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens and found out some more about it's benefactor Hugh Sexey.
The children all participated in a musical theatre workshop based on Wind and the Willows - they worked on a section and then put it together to perform the story working collaboratively.
We had a wonderful visit to Bruton Museum where the children were given a tour of some of the artefacts in its collection. The guided was very informative about all the changes in Bruton and we learned lots about the buildings and community of our town and the significance of the River Brue. We then had a walk around the town, looking at human and physical features and the key landmarks. We will use what we have found out to add into our non-chronological reports in English.
