We had a fantastic time on our first welly walk of the year!

In art we have been learning about Roy Lichtenstein. We found out about his use of Primary Colours and Ben Day dots to create his work. We created our pieces of mixed media work by printing and collaging.

This week's poem is "Autumn Trees" By Denise Roberts. The children amazed me today by showing me how well they have remembered all our poems of the week!

On Thursday we had an email from Superman! He asked for help from us to create an aerial map of Bruton Primary School. We thought about the different shapes of the buildings and what they look like from above. We then cut out the shapes and stuck them together to create a map.

In Maths this week the Year 1's and Year 2's worked together to make number sentences including the greater than, less than and equal to symbols.

Our Poem of the Week this week is "The Stars are Blinking" by Annette Wynne.

This week we had our first "Open the Book" assembly. We heard a Bible story about 4 friends who didn't give up in their quest to ask Jesus to heal their sick friend.

This week in ICT we found out about drawing using different apps on the tablets. We used J2E paint to create some lovely pictures!

This week in Forest School we investigated the different trees we have in the Forest School Area. We looked at different leaves and compared them to the leaf identification poster we had on the wall. We have lots of different varieties of trees at our school!

This week we had some distressed vegetables in class! Who could be causing mischief? It was Evil Pea and we needed Supertato to come to the rescue! We thought of traps we could create for Evil Pea, made some wanted posters and came up with actions to help us remember the story.

This year we are working on learning a new poem every week. This week we learnt "Rain" by Robert Louis Stevenson. We hope you enjoy our performance!
