In ICT we have started looking at how to create digital drawings. The children used Paintz on the tablets, they started by practicing using the brush tool with different line thicknesses, then tried to create a self-portrait!
To practice our learning of number lines in maths, we drew number lines up to 20, practiced saying the numbers forwards and backwards and even made the numbers using concrete resources.
As a class we came up with lots of actions to help us remember and retell our story of Supertato.
We had a lesson about the emergency services, how to contact them and what to say during a conversation. The children acted out some scenarios and we discussed what is a real emergency, and what isn't.
Our Wow moment for English, the children came into class to find that the vegetables had been terrorised! All signs pointed to Evil Pea...
We played some games to support our learning behaviour of Responsibility.
Playdough is always fun! We practiced fine motor with number formation.
On our second day we carried out a maths investigation called 'all change' the children took turns rolling a dice and placing that many counters on a grid. We discussed what the fewest number of rolls would be in order to fill the grid, and why.
