In DT this half term, we have been learning to adapt a basic recipe. We have kept it festive and created Christmas biscuits. In this project, the children tasted and evaluated existing biscuits and their packaging. Then I demonstrated how to make the basic biscuit recipe. The children tasted it and then planned what flavours and decorations they would like to add. Next they designed the packaging - including a name and label. The next thing to do was a budget - this was tricky to do using a running total. Finally they made their biscuits and the packaging.
