We were visited by Rose Asprey who helped us tell a story through using different instruments! Each group of children played a different animal, and they had to try and recreate that animal's sound and movement. For example, a timid little mouse, or a big snoring bear!
We carried out five different experiments to test the senses! The children had to guess what was in some smelly pots, feel the hidden contents of a bag, listen to different instruments whilst wearing blindfolds, try and touch pencils together with one or both eyes shut. And finally got to blind taste four different flavours of jelly beans!
Lots of fun exploring compasses outside! We also shared different silly ways to remember the points of a compass.
Creating repeating patterns with 2D and 3D shapes!
We have started learning about weaving artist DY Begay. We used watercolours to create a neutral background.
We have been looking at symmetry in shape! The children used mirrors to explore some 2D shapes and then had a go at copying some symmetrical patterns.
During our learning of shape, we have been looking at counting sides and vertices.
