Summer Term 1
What is Colour ?
This half term our Quest is called What is Colour? This topic has an art focus where the children will be learning to name primary and secondary colours, experiment with mixing colours and using different brushes, making colours lighter and darker and taking part in various workshops. The children will also spend a couple of weeks learning about India - where it is in the world, which animals live there, what foods are eaten there and why colour is so important in Indian art.
Below are some key documents for this term.
Homework
As usual the children have one piece of Quest homework to complete ready for the last week of term where they present it to the class. The priority is to READ, READ, READ. We hope that the children will be reading with an adult at least four times a week. Year Twos have weekly spelling homework which is set on Spelling Shed or you can practise on a piece of paper. They have a spelling test each Friday. The Year Ones are getting ready for the Phonics Screening in June so they won't be having weekly spellings (or doing Ed Shed this half term). Instead, they will be practising their phonics on the app (a letter and information has been sent out to each child).
