Week Six

This week is Children's Wellbeing Week. Each day we are doing an activity to help our mental wellbeing. On Monday we read a story called Ruby's Worry and talked about how it is important to share a worry so they don't grow bigger. The children did their PE outside and we did a breathing exercise. On Tuesday we practised some Yoga in the class. On Wednesday the children thought about who supported them and helped them and wrote these names around the edge of a hot air balloon to symbolise them being lifted up.

In maths this week the children have been learning about block graphs. They worked in mixed ability pairs to create a block graph using the data given. The children then had to answer questions about what the graph showed and write some questions for their partners.

In Quest this week we have been learning about Amelia Earheart and the Continents. The children worked in pairs to make a continent jigsaw. They learned a continent song (which they have been singing all week!)

In phonics the children have found it challenging sorting the different ways the a phoneme can be sounded!

Today in maths, we used ICT software to input data and create a block graph. We created a graph to show the birth months of the children in Dove Class. We found that April was the most popular month for birthdays and June was least popular.
