Week Seven

Finally, we are in the last week of term and what an exciting and busy week we have had. The children have all coped so well with a less structured week and have shown amazing team work and organisation skills!

Below are some of the fun things they have been up to. The highlight was, of course, the Nativity. Go to Google Classroom to see the video of their performance.

In RE the children have been learning about the Christmas story and why Christians celebrate Christmas. They each created their own zig-zag books to tell the story. The presentation of these was beautiful and I hope they are something that you will want to treasure.

We all enjoyed our Christmas lunch today !

On Wednesday, the children brought in board games to share with their friends. I was introduced to a few great new ones and it was lovely to see the children taking turns , sharing and taking care of each other's games.

The children all made an individual card for someone in the class. They drew a name out of a hat and had to create a beautiful card for that person to be given from the whole class. What a lot of care was taken to make these and the children were all very pleased to receive their own special card.

Wrapping Challenge. The children were in teams of six. Their first task was to each make a small lego model. Then they were given paper, scissors and sticky tape. The first team to wrap all of their lego parcels were the winners. A few prizes were also given for best wrapping - these went to Mollie and Annabelle. It was really interesting to watch the children and see their different strategies and ability to work in a team.

We made Rudolph cupcakes. We had to use various yummy ingredients to recreate the face of the Red Nosed Reindeer! Hopefully they will make it home in one piece!

We made hats ready for our Christmas party tomorrow.

We had lots of fun at our Christmas party today. We ate party food, danced and played party games.
