This week our theme has been The Royal Family. We kicked off with Leo bringing in a letter to show us that HRH Queen Elizabeth had sent to his brother.
We looked at how formal letters were laid out and what language to use. The children drafted their own letters to Queen and wrote a best copy. Finally, they addressed the envelopes and added the stamps. What neat handwriting these children have!
Then off we went to the postbox ! I am sure the Queen will be delighted with their letters - I wonder how long it will be until they get a reply?
In the Fine Motor Group the children have been strengthening their finger muscles by threading cheerios to make necklaces.
We have been learning about the role of a monarch and having a think about what rules they would impose if they were to become King or Queen!
The children have had a wonderful time playing on the new play equipment. Lots of team work and resilience shown all round.
