In English, we have been looking at 'The Weed' by Quentin Blake. The children got into groups and acted out the story. They had to use their drama skills and remember key vocabulary from the story. Each group then performed their version of 'The Weed' to everybody.
In Maths, we have looked at how 3D shapes are in everyday objects. We discussed the proprties of these 3D shapes and why they might be used for certain objects. We all agreed that a triangular prism as a car wheel would make for a very bumpy ride! Some children then had to sort out the objects into groups, then we had to try and guess how they had been sorted.
The bean growing has gone incredibly well. The children's individual beans grew in plastic freezer bags which acted at mini greenhouses. Today we planted them into pots, adding more soil and water. They are now ready to go home and to find a sunny spot to grow. Please keep measuring them and we hope to have a winning bean. A couple of the beans did not germinate so we have had a go at cress instead.
The children have continued with their art project based on flowers and Angie Lewin. Today they had a go at creating their design for the print. We are very excited about printing next week and to see how they look.
