Week 4, 5 and 6

We looked at measuring in maths. We looked at area, perimeter and converted different units. We solved problems involving measurement.

Year 3 have been singing in music, year 4 have been learning to play the ukulele.

We finished looking at the story, 'The Rhythm of the Rain' and wrote our own story about a raindrop, where it left the clouds and went on an exciting adventure! We then moved on from narratives and explored non-chronological reports. Eventually, we wrote our own river report with facts that we had learnt throughout English and Quest and facts about the river Brue.

We created water cycles in a bag and made drainage basins.

A lady from Wessex Water visited us and told us all about water treatment! We then treated dirty river water by making a funnel from a plastic bottle and used cotton wool, sand and filter paper.

We went on a trip to the river Brue! We measured the depth and speed of the river. We also drew the river (a cross section/bird's-eye view). We used our data within our river report.
