In art we have started to look closely at bees and to make sketches of them in our sketch books. We also made the bodies of our 3D papier mache bees - this was a very messy activity!
In Music this week we have begun composing our own tunes thinking of simple notes and rhythms. We created our music on the interactive whiteboard and listened as it was played back to us.
Miss Woldridge took us outside to do our phonics in the sunshine. Here we are sorting the different oy/ oi sounds.
In Maths we have been learning about quarter past and quarter to. We have practised this through games on the interactive whiteboard/ipads and using the hand held clocks.
Miss McCracken brought in a book called The Worry Monster. The Worry Monster eats up our worries - during EMA we drew our own worry monsters and thought about what we are worried about and some possible solutions to our worries.
Today we got into groups and classified animals according to different heading such as amphibians, reptiles and birds. You amazed us with all the facts you already knew about animals!
We had beautiful weather this week so we fitted in an extra swimming lesson. This week we have been practising our push and glides and putting faces in the water.
During EMA some children do some extra practise of fine motor skills. Look at these beautiful play dough cakes!
