Stone Age

We were investigating today the best biscuit to make Stonehenge. We looked at the appearances of the biscuits, then completed a series of challenges to test their durability.

Making and using our own stamps to print Bell Beaker patterns

Music notation - the children have been learning about crotchets, quavers and rests.

Today, we investigated artefacts and thought about what they were, what they were used for and who may have used each object.

In class, we discussed the different resources that would have been available to people who lived in the Stone Age. We thought about how they would have used these to make structures and shelters before we began to design our own. We thought about the materials we would need, the shape of the structure that would be able to withstand the weather and then went to the forest school area to make our shelters. We then reflected on our work and thought about what went well and what we would possibly do differently if we completed the task again.
